The purpose for this little photo adventure was
to try out a little meniscus that I will be putting
in shutters and offering from time to time.  I don't
shoot with the Chamonix 4X5 often enough and I
had gathered several tasty 4X5 lenses that had
never seen a photon while in my possession.

Goerz WA Dagor 4 1/4" @ f22

When I unfolded the Cham, there was a lens
that I thought had been lost.  A tiny 4 1/4" Goerz
wide angle Dagor f8.  Since it was very near
in focal length to the meniscus it seemed a
perfect place to start.

Here is the same scene with the meniscus.  I
was able to shoot wide open in cloud cover
daylight at 1/125th f5.6

Easier to just leave the meniscus in place for
shot number 3.  I simply moved in a bit.  1/125
at f5.6 which is wide open.

Goerz WA Dagor 4 1/4" @ f22

Same shot but with the American Optical Co.
Goerz wide angle Dagor.

Wollensak Velostigmat Series 1A 222mm f7 coated @f16

I finished this round before moving to the front of
the building with a very unusual lens.  This is a
Wollensak Velostigmat Series 1A Convertible
that is a combined 222mm f7.  It's late, coated,
in Rapax shutter, and quite obviously razor sharp.

Goerz WA Dagor 4 1/4" @f22 1/2

Now I've moved to the front of the old Campbell
and Kelly Inc. building.  This was the Chevrolet
dealership in Tonopah Nevada until 1966.  This
done as before with the Goerz Dagor.

NoName 4" Meniscus in Prontor shutter wide open

Same shot but with the Achromatic Meniscus lens.
This meniscus seems to be about 4" focus.
Ever so slightly shorter than the Dagor.  It covers
4X5 handily and I think it has a spectacular look.

Meniscus, but moved in closer.  Wide open as before.

For this shot I stopped the meniscus down to f22.

Final shot was with a pretty 150mm 4.5 Heliar.
It's coated and in Compur, and like the Wolly 1A
I'd never made a photograph with it.  I had gotten
it and the Wolly on the same day.  They've
languished in a drawer for about a year and a half.

Voigtlander Heliar 150mm f4.5 Coated @ f4.5

I'd forgotten how easy it is to bang off 10 shots
with a 4X5 camera.
